Project Management Agency
Projektträger im Deutschen Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (PT-DLR, Project Management Agency – part of the German Aerospace Center) is the agency that manages (the contents and organisation of) the projects funded by the various ministries according to the applicable funding guidelines and is hence a central and invaluable element in the project-funding system of the ministries.
Qualified experts from the various scientific and technical fields along with competent administrators act as a central link between the federal ministries, performing the following tasks, in particular:
- Initial concept development, i.e. drawing up position papers and preparing support measures
- Administrative and topic-specific project preparation and support; intermediate and success evaluation, finance control and co-ordination of focal aspects
- External examination of applications, evaluation of funding concepts, hosting of seminars
- Project co-ordination, central office function, supporting measures, PR, organisation and moderation of large events and symposiums
- Support for concept development and organisational design of international co-operation in research and education
In the AUTONOMICS for Industry 4.0 programme, the Project Management Agency directly assists the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action by supporting the projects on both content and administrative level and thus ensuring that the goals of the projects funded are reached.
