Safe and fast bone marrow donations
In Germany alone, more than 9 million citizens are registered as potential bone marrow donors. Currently, the registration process is largely only possible in analogue form. The donor data is entered manually into the donor software. This results in a high effort for the maintenance and operation of the donor databases, which significantly slows down the overall process from registration to successful transplantation.
SDIKA's donor-app connects donors directly with the institutions involved in the donor search and transplantation process. Personal information is stored as a digital identity in a wallet on the smartphone and transferred directly to the database when needed. This means that the staff of the institutions involved no longer must enter the personal information manually. The required - sometimes life-critical - time between the initiation of an external donor search and the transplantation of hematopoietic stem cells ("time to transplant") is thus considerably reduced. At the same time, the streamlined registration procedure supports process safety for patients and donors ("safety to transplant").
Use the Karlsruhe Pass digitally
With the Karlsruhe Pass for residents of participating municipalities of the Social Region, who are affected or threatened by poverty, benefits or discounts can be claimed at municipal institutions, participating private providers and associations. Benefits are offered in the areas of leisure, sports, education, culture and mobility.
The passes are currently only issued in analogue form, are renewed manually every year and have to be issued individually for each member of a household. This causes a high processing effort. In many households the parents keep the children's passes themselves so that they can use them when needed. However, the child cannot then access the pass if he or she wants to use the discount entitlements independently. In the event of loss or theft, entitled persons will also be denied access to discounts until they apply for a replacement pass.
In future, the digital Karlsruhe pass from SDIKA can be stored in the digital wallet. This means that it is always accessible to the holder. The risk of theft and loss is reduced. Identity verification can be carried out more quickly overall, which pays off in numerous areas of application. In addition, thanks to digital verifiability, discounts can now also be claimed for online purchases.
Set up a business faster digitally
Registering, changing or deregistering a business involves many administrative processes. Particularly in the start-up phase, but also in regular business operations, entrepreneurs are faced with various tasks. These range from applying for an entry in the commercial register to opening a bank account or renting commercial space. In all these processes, the identity data of the business or its legitimate representative are requested.
Until now, this data has been transferred in several time-consuming steps. Applicants first fill out online forms and submit them together with scans of other documents. This entails a considerable amount of checking and processing.
With the alternative developed by SDIKA, company and personal data can be stored in one place and used many times. By linking it to the electronic verification of the ePA (electronic identity card with online function), the verification of the applicant is carried out and the payment of the applicable fees is processed. This eliminates the need to send in documents and then check them manually.
Speed up building permits with digital identities
With over 220,000 building permits issued annually, the building permit process is one of the most important interfaces between business and administration.
Hardly any other administrative procedure involves so many actors in different institutions. These must work together in a coordinated manner so that a building application can be prepared, submitted, checked and approved in a legally secure manner.
In addition to applicants and the responsible authorities, external actors from business and society are often involved, which causes a high processing and coordination effort.
Digital identities allow interaction along the entire value chain for all actors involved with different roles and authorizations. In this way, administrative processes can be better recorded, tracked and accelerated digitally. Approval processes digitized in this way not only facilitate administration. They are also decisive for the effective development of residential and commercial locations and transparent planning law.
In the future, this solution is to be implemented in other States and municipalities according to the one-for-all principle of the OZG (Onlinezuganggesetz). In this way, the solutions developed by SDIKA can be transferred throughout Germany in the future.
An integrated platform for the entire mobility service chain
Nowadays, there is a wide range of public transport and car sharing platforms. It is easy for users to lose track of them all. Entering data for the respective online service also takes a lot of time each time. The app Regiomove from the Regional Association Mittlerer Oberrhein combines the offers of several mobility providers in one platform.
With digital identities, other services in addition to the mobility offers, such as those from the gastronomy or hotel industry, can be integrated into the app. The individual services can thus also be used in combination. Because other digital identities are also stored in the wallet, further synergy effects can be achieved. For example, the required digital driver's license can be used on-demand in the Wallet for registration with mobility services. Without separate prior registration with the service provider.
In the future, there will be even more fields of application. For example, the use of mobility credits, the proof of discount features (such as the Karlsruhe Pass), or authentication at charging stations is planned.
