iTESA
intelligent Traveller Early Situation Awareness
Travel safety is becoming more important due to increased customer awareness, the constant occurrence of crisis events and the tightening of the statutory requirements in regards to the duty to inform and the duty of care. However, real-time travel alerts are not offered on the market. The result is that employees on business trips are not informed of crises in a timely manner and as a result are unable to cancel their trips or receive alternative travel routes.
The aim of iTESA is to set up an automatic alarm system that identifies travel risks in real time and offers travellers information and support both prior to and during their trip. To achieve this, iTESA analyses real-time data from public internet sources like social networks, the news, news agencies and press releases. In accordance to data protection legislation, this data stream is analysed with regard to semantic dictionaries and statistical procedures on travel risks (riots, natural disasters and epidemics) and will be offered to potential victims via a platform.
