SIDAP
Scalable Integration Concept for Data Aggregation, Analysis and Preparation of Big Data Volumes in Process Manufacturing
Process manufacturing plays an important role in Germany’s industrial and high-tech sectors: Process manufacturing develops and operates highly automated facilities for the production of pharmaceuticals and specialty chemicals, sometimes on a global scale. Built-in equipment from different suppliers is used to control the processes and produces an immense flood of heterogeneous data. Up to now, this data has been collected by the companies often in differing IT systems. The equipment manufacturer collects their own data regardless of this. The potential for a comprehensive analysis of as much of the data as possible is rarely or even never utilized.
The aim of SIDAP is to develop a data-driven and service-oriented software solution that makes structural information and data streams in engineering and process control systems easier to access for interactive analyses. In this way, equipment manufacturers can analyse their devices in plants and the repair of device errors by using usage data, preemptively identify faults and react in a timely manner to provide optimal support to plant operators. For plant operators, this ensures optimal usage of equipment and thus as a consequence thereof, the most trouble-free operation as possible.
