SmartRegio
Trend Analysis Based on Heterogeneous Mass Data
Small and medium-sized enterprises, public institutions and infrastructure providers are usually deeply rooted in their regions. That is why they have to take local socio-economic and demographic trends into account in their business processes. "Regions" however do not have any homogeneous structures. That is why trends like technological or social innovations have different impacts. That can frequently be seen in public behaviour - for example in the attitude towards local construction projects, increasing migration and in response to the energy transition or electric mobility. SmartRegio will allow companies to identify such trends based on local mass data.
Until now, local trends have been extrapolated from less informative studies and surveys. SmartRegio, on the other hand, uses local mass data – from search queries, transactions, entries on social media over open platforms and Wikipedia to data collected by the city, municipality or infrastructure providers. These are however widely scattered and differ greatly in type, format and access. The goal of SmartRegio is to merge and analyse this data. A modular platform will be able to flexibly evaluate the data in terms of time, location and content, discover relevant changes and allow processing for different recipients.
